I found out only last year that my mum had a miscarriage before she had me. I've always wanted to ask her about it, but I didn't because I was scared she'd find it too confronting. But it's kind of unnerving, thinking that I wouldn't exist if she didn't have a miscarriage. Thought I would share.

It might be a bit confronting, but it might also be a good idea to ask anyway. It’s always good to be familiar with what your parents went through before their lives with you and any siblings you may have.
